Love to Sing?

LATEST NEWS:

We've got a few Christmas Events then will take a break till late January.
We'll be back meeting again in 2024 on Monday evenings from January 29th with a fresh new set of songs to learn and new times of uplifting singing and fun.
We're back together at Holy Trinity Aylesbury at 8pm on Monday Evenings from January 29th to March 25th 2024.
Do get in touch with us if you'd be interested in coming along (see the contact details on the flyer below).

Now heading into its 5th year in Aylesbury - a Gospel Choir learning songs of freedom, hope, support, & light - and about journeying with and towards God through life's highs and lows.

Everyone is welcome. Do get in touch if you'd like to know more or to come along. The emphasis is on enjoying singing. There are no auditions and no sight music to use - so there's no music reading ability required. Learning of songs will be in a fun style - learning by ear and working out how to get our voices to sound right together.

Relaunch Details Aylesbury Community Gospel Choir in 2024

#LightForAylesbury

Sarah leads the choir in learning the songs, and has done this before in Northwood Hills in Greater London. Since moving to Aylesbury she'd been hoping to launch a Gospel Choir for Aylesbury and was delighted to get the Aylesbury Community Gospel Choir off the ground with Holy Trinity Church in Walton Street, Aylesbury. HP21 7QX. That's where we met in early 2020 until the lockdown for the pandemic hit. We then had a couple of seasons as an online version via zoom - which had challenges, but we still managed to have fun and practice some songs.

Some of what we did from autumn 2021 to summer 2022 was impacted by covid waves, but we managed to make some videos all together - and finally in July 2022 held our first concert in Holy Trinity Aylesbury. It was a wonderful culmination after all the stop start of 2020 and 2021, and so rewarding to perform in front of real people!! Everyone seemed to have a good time.

We've now had another few terms of singing together and contributed to the Holy Trinity Carol Service in December 2022, sang at a Canalside Celebration in Aylesbury in April 2023, and held a further concert in July 2023, then onto Berryfields Christmas Celebration in Dec 2023 and the Holy Trinity Carol Service on December 17th 2023 at 6.30pm.

We're just finishing our Autumn 2023 term and look forward to a social once it's all under control!
We'll be excited to be back On Mondays at 8pm at Holy Trinity Aylesbury from 29th January 2024 to 25th March 2024.

It's so good to be back singing together - we do have fun.

Our gathering is informal, fun, inclusive, and welcoming.

The songs we sing will be a mix of traditional Gospel songs and other more contemporary songs which embrace some of the Gospel song themes. We look forward to welcoming you! Do get in touch.

Sarah has learned from Geraldine Latty about approaches to Gospel songs and learning them (see a link below to Geraldine Latty.com Luce Music) Geraldine is an established sing/songwriter with several solo albums to her name and has run Sing Gospel workshops.
Aylesbury Community Gospel Choir is connected to Gospel Genaration Community Choir (which was established by Geraldine) for resources, ideas, encouragement and potential projects. There are a number of choirs across the southern part of Britain linked into this group.

Sarah has helped run local businesses in Aylesbury - Artistry Coffee and also previously GoCruise - both based until the pandemic at Duck Farm Court, near Morrisons (see links below).
There's now a new little venture too - Greet and smile - for special greetings cards and a small selection of gifts.
